Teaching Philosophy:

My number one priority as teacher is to encourage a creative, comfortable, and collaborative environment where students feel free to fully explore their voice. Approaching with a curious mindset is key for unlocking new vocal discoveries, and in lessons I strive to create a nonjudgmental space where students can develop healthy singing technique and confidence in their abilities. My teaching style is pedagogically based and rooted in current voice science research. During lessons, I encourage students to develop an awareness of their voice so that they feel more empowered when entering the practice room. Expression through music is also a large aspect of my teaching style. I am a strong proponent of helping students unlock heightened storytelling in their performances as well as a deeper personal/emotional connection to the text and music.

As a crossover artist active in both the operatic and musical theatre fields, I am passionate about teaching a myriad of musical genres and find joy in uplifting each student’s own musical goals. I am comfortable working with students of different ages and backgrounds and am comfortable varying my teaching methods in order to best benefit each individual student. I am passionate about helping students achieve their own singing goals, and encourage long-term growth by finding the balance between encouraging and challenging students in lessons. I am avid about searching for performance opportunities for my students, and have a wealth of knowledge on music entrepreneurship and different aspects of music business for those wanting to pursue their musical endeavors professionally. I consistently ensure that the student’s voice is heard, and that lessons are a space for openness, expression, and fun!
